He falls but never forgets
For one day he'll confess
The secrets of
life that a father lives to reveal
And he'll fall time and time again
'Til it works out in the end
And
his son understands just how the old man feels
He never did finish school
Still he did what he had to do
Those hard working hands were the only tools that he owned
And he used them both day and night
In the dark and
in the light
To prove to the world he could give his family a home
He's part of a dying breed
So few and far between
The fathers that give
their all 'til the end of time
He'll never change his ways
And until my dying day
I'm forever proud
to say my father's mine
He's
been known to have his fun
Still I know when Monday comes
He'll rise with the sun and off to work he'll
go
And I see how tired he gets
Still I know he'll never quit
For a lesson learned is the only reward he's
known
