I sang a song and then I cried,
for that's when I realized
That time had passed me by But the life that I chose many years ago Is all that I know And people ask why I waste my time Living the late night life in the shadows of neon lights Somebody's got to do it Spend their whole life in the spotlight Sing songs that make people smile And love you for a little while Let the world feel your pain and light the way For those who take comfort in the words that you bring Somebody's got to sing The words inside their heart that make them who they are And tear them apart But the ones who survive sing the hurt that's inside And smile all the time Words disappear when you drown them with tears So keep your head up and afloat your song, let nothing keep you down long Chorus Rise above everything Wear a smile on your face, be another's saving grace Be the light in the dark, let the world in your heart Somebody's got to sing Somebody's got to do it, somebody's got to sing  |

"Somebody's Got To Sing" for some reason, never gets played out in public all too often. It was written
over the course of a few months in my early stages of writing, but means a lot to me when I actually sit down and listen to
it. I tend to write alot of these "Woas me, I'm a singer" type songs.
