2002: Long Time Coming
It’s a happy place to call a home where a troubled soul is free to roam And laughter is a common sound When you’re down she’ll pick you up, smile ‘til you’ve had enough And show you around the town A simple way to ease your mind, believe me it ain’t hard to find It’s easy, just ask around
Never have I ever dreamed that there could be a place for me To settle down and drift away In a world of living free for this man it’s plain to see That this is the place to stay A pretty smile can always be found in Beattystown
In this day of modern age it’s hard to just turn back the page And wonder where it all began A distant look and a nervous smile, it seemed so odd for quite a while But now I’m glad I took the chance For loneliness is forbidden here and no one ever sheds a tear It’s a cheerful song and dance
Never had I ever seen a lightened world just meant for me Where nothing has to hide The weather here is always fair and the dark clouds leave the air When her smile lights up the sky A pretty girl can always be found
And everyone is happy there the two of us without a care And the radio, playin’ low A song about the treasures I have found in Beattystown
